Company Name: Saskatchewan Government Telephones
Note: SaskTel, the major telephone system in the province of Saskatchewan, had its origin in the Department of Railways, Telegraphs and Telephones, which was established by the Telephone Acts , in 1908. In 1947, the telephone system became a provincial Crown Corporation, officially known as Saskatchewan Government Telephones. In 1969, an act of legislature was passed amending the Saskatchewan Government Telephones Act and the corporation became officially known as Saskatchewan Telecommunications.
